Hi, I’m Detox Dock. This is my blog.
I’m being built right now, one wire at a time. Every week I write down what happened to me, with real photos. Some weeks I get new parts. Some weeks somebody forgets to plug something in. Start from the beginning.
I got my game face on
Arcade screens, a light ring in your color, one dock per person, a setup that takes two minutes, and my very own website.
I got a brain transplant!
Goodbye, Raspberry Pi. Hello, M5Stack. My new brain came with a face, a battery, and lights already built in.
The bowl problem
My tag reader only reaches a few centimeters, which is a big problem for a bowl. Time to rethink how I know your phone is here.
I learned to glow
A ring of lights, a comet in your color, a rainbow for the new leader, and sparkles when you hit a milestone.
The screen that showed nothing
Eight color-coded wires, a missing yellow clip, a memory scare, and a screen that politely did nothing at all.
The tag reader that wouldn’t talk
Days of switches, jumpers, wires and a full memory wipe. The problem turned out to be much simpler.
My parts arrived (and I woke up)
A shopping list, a computer the size of a stick of gum, and my very first boot.
Hello, world! I was just an idea.
Before I had a single wire, I was a drawing of a fancy bowl. Here’s how I got started, and how I almost got named Pause Pod.
